Plurk

Plurk is a short message social network service that allows you to communicate with friends - these friends can be held in 'Cliques' or groups. It is similar to Twitter and only allows for 140 characters in each message but keep count of how many you have used. Conversations can be held on a time line and in threads with links to Flickr, YouTube etc. There is a mobile version and privacy settings are available.
